With all the non-economic articles introduced and on the table in front of the JHU admin, we need to continue to demonstrate that we’re all working together to win improvements to our conditions and make JHU a more equitable and transparent place to work for all of us. This email is to invite you to our union’s second general bargaining unit meeting to learn how bargaining has been going so far, and help strategize together on our next steps to win our first contract – the first collectively bargained contract for postdocs in JHU’s history!

At this meeting, you will hear from members of our elected Bargaining Committee on:

The full picture of non-economic proposals submitted to JHU administration and how negotiations have progressed.

An assessment of where negotiations currently stand.

A timeline for when we anticipate starting conversations about pay, benefits, and financial security that are often closest to home.

How well all will play a role in strengthening our collective position as we enter this next phase of negotiations
You’ll also have the chance to connect with fellow supportive postdocs and strategize on how we can work together to win real lasting improvements to our working conditions here at Hopkins.
