We are reaching out to provide an update about our contract negotiations. Less than 24h before our next session was set to begin, JHU administration canceled our bargaining session due to a scheduling conflict. While we are disappointed by the timing, we are prepared to continue making progress toward our first contract at next week’s negotiation meeting.
Our fourth bargaining session will now be held next Friday, March 27th, from 11:00am-2:00pm. We are working to confirm the location with the JHU administration, and will notify you as soon as we know.
How can we make progress before next Friday?
Our ability to win comes from our ability to organize and demonstrate our collective strength! To that end, here are two ways you can contribute to our collective success right now:
1. Vote on our Initial Bargaining Demands: These initial demands, informed by your feedback and bargaining survey, provide a foundation of what we, as a union, are working to achieve in our first contract. The more of us who vote on these demands, the stronger our position is at the bargaining table by telling JHU admin that a majority of us stand behind these goals. 2. Attend a future bargaining session as an observer: Attending a bargaining session is an important way to show JHU that postdocs are engaged, organized, and ready to win the improvements we deserve at the bargaining table!
